QA Enhancements Across Themes

This release brings full‑library QA across design and development, polished components, updated key variables, and a set of targeted dev fixes that improve consistency, clarity, and interaction.

Multi‑Theming QA and improvements

We completed our multi‑theming QA for the entire component library, bringing a deeper level of consistency across every part of the system.
In both Figma and Code, this includes a wide set of small, non‑breaking adjustments across multiple components and updates to key variables.
Together, these refinements strengthen alignment, improve visual balance, and ensure theming behaves predictably and reliably in every use case.

Important Fixes & Updates from Dev

We’ve made a series of focused improvements across components to strengthen usability, accessibility, and theming consistency.

What’s changed:

  • sd-expandable now behaves as expected when open, keeping hover and text selection fully accessible.
  • sd-notification removes non‑closable variants from the tab order so only interactive elements receive focus.
  • sd-range brings smoother interactions with a stable “always‑visible” tooltip, no more handle locking, and no accidental page text selection while dragging.
  • sd-combobox lets you clear optional fields with Backspace/Delete, while required fields stay protected unless a “None” option is present.
  • sd-radio-group now deals gracefully with empty groups and provides a clear warning instead of throwing errors.
  • Design tokens restore tokens.tailwind.json in v6, enabling dynamic theming again.

As always, you can check the full changelog to stay up to date on every detail.

What’s Next?

Next, we aim to introduce the new sd-step-group-compact optimized for mobile‑first flows and interfaces with limited space, expand multitheming with additional branded options, and continue refining and fixing areas across the design system.
